About The Position

Vishay Applied Thin Film Products is seeking a QC In-Line Inspector to perform in-process and final visual inspections of raw, metalized, and patterned ceramic substrates. This role involves using various inspection tools and microscopes to ensure products meet quality standards and production goals. The inspector will also interpret inspection data, report findings, and provide basic training to new team members. The position requires attention to detail, good manual dexterity, and the ability to work in a dynamic environment. This role is open only to applicants who qualify as “U.S. Persons” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 due to access to information subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations and/or the Export Administration Regulations.

Requirements

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of experience in quality assurance inspection is required
  • Good computer skills and data entry experience
  • Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
  • Technical knowledge of basic inspection tools and equipment like calipers, micrometers, various gauges, and low- and high- powered microscopes, bonding machines, etc.
  • Proficient in English. Must have basic English communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Good manual dexterity as will be handling precise small fragile components under a microscope using tweezers and probes
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment with constant change
  • Able to prioritize job flows, schedule and manage time efficiently
  • Good problem solving and multi-tasking abilities required
  • Must qualify as a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to read and understand procedures and work instructions a plus
  • MIC Hybrid circuit inspection experience or MIC assembly a plus
  • Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices and other safety procedures is preferred
  • Prior experience working for ISO 9000 certified company is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Performing in-process, final visual inspection of raw, metalized and patterned ceramic substrates using stereo zoom and high-power microscopes, micrometers, calipers, various gauges and other inspection tools
  • Reading diagrams and specifications
  • Measuring products with rulers, calipers, gauges, or micrometers
  • Accepting or rejecting finished products
  • Strictly following quality standards and meeting daily, weekly production goals
  • Discussing inspection results with those responsible for the products
  • Interpreting inspection data according to inspection standards
  • Reporting inspection and test data
  • Providing some basic training and support to new QA team members
  • May be required to perform other duties
