About The Position

The Quality Control General Inspector II plays a critical role in the daily operations of the QC Sampling and QC Label Inspections sub-teams, including but not limited to label inspections, raw material and bulk product sampling, and retention sample intake and discard. The Quality Control General Inspector II will provide leadership, training, and guidance to ensure proficiency, effectiveness, and efficiency in the QC Sampling and QC Label areas. Key result to be achieved: Execute all duties and responsibilities performed by a QC General Inspector I as needed to maintain department goals. Assist in training QC General Inspector I and II duties as needed, including use of PLE. Coordinate collaborative team efforts to review and update SOPs as needed. Coordinate with Warehouse staff to move materials as needed for quality control evaluation processes. Communicate damage of material containers to QC Technical Analysts, Warehouse staff, and management as needed to assess whether material can be salvaged. Monitor and maintain tracking and discard of retention samples, paying particular attention to the timely disposal of samples past their 6-year retention period. Monitor and coordinate the calibration of QC Team’s equipment, including the ISO-8 room recertifications. Participate in Safety Committee meetings and assist in safety training and inspections for the QC team. Write purchase requisitions for needed team supplies and route for signatures. Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot inaccuracies and other problems with water sampler equipment and label inspection tables. Participate as a fully engaged member of a self-directed work team to set and achieve department and company goals. Monitor progress by recording and evaluating performance metrics to drive continuous improvement. Perform all other tasks as assigned by Threshold management.

Requirements

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds and stand for a long period of time.
  • Self-starter with the ability to learn and grow with changing role needs, able to work with little or no supervision and maintain a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with team members and coordinate efforts efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to maintain full self-accountability, accountability as a team, and to integrate constructive criticism.
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2 years of experience as a QC General Inspector or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree, preferably in a science related field.
  • 3 years of Quality Control, Quality Assurance, or other inspection experience.
  • 2 years of experience in a GMP/GDP production environment.
  • Experience in using sterile techniques to sample materials without introducing contamination.
  • Experience performing water treatment and testing methods and/or using handheld water testing meters.
  • 2 years of experience working in a warehouse environment, use of powered lifting equipment such as walkie-stackers, reach trucks, electric pallet jacks, and forklifts, and/or troubleshooting problems with machinery.
  • 2 years of experience with Navision software or other enterprise resource planning (ERP) software.
