About The Position

Perform qualitative and quantitative chemical and physical analysis of raw materials and dietary supplement finished products in the Quality Control Laboratory using wet chemistry techniques and analytical instrumentation. This position reports to Quality Control Laboratory Operations Supervisor.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Chemistry or related field with 0-2 years of relevant laboratory work experience in a Nutraceutical / Dietary Supplement or Pharmaceutical environment.
  • Experience in various wet chemical analysis and instrumentation using NIR spectrophotometer; experience with USP/FCC Methods is essential.
  • Must be a self-starter.
  • Ability to read and write English.
  • Basic computer knowledge (Excel and Word).
  • Ability to stay focused and alert; utilize basics math skills; audit paperwork; carry out routine tasks with appropriate follow-up.
  • Team player, willing to assist others in their areas to accomplish the task.
  • Must be able to work overtime and week-ends as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Perform qualitative and quantitative chemical and physical analysis of raw materials and finished products.
  • Prepare standards and reagents; calibrate and operate simple as well as sophisticated laboratory instruments such as pH-meter, refractometer, scale, titrator, viscometer, FTIR spectrophotometer, UV-Vis spectrophotometer, and HPLC.
  • Document analytical data in laboratory notebook and follow Good Laboratory Practices, Good Documentation Practices and Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Review product certificates of analysis for accuracy and conformance.
  • Solve practical problems and carry out responsibilities under general supervision.
  • Order laboratory supplies, and maintain a safe, clean and efficient laboratory.
  • Properly file all documents related to the received raw materials, packaging components and labels for easy retrieval.
  • Properly manage raw material reserve samples collection and storage.
  • Participate in the release of staged raw materials.
  • Other responsibilities as determined and assigned by the Quality Control Laboratory Operations Manager.
  • Follow all applicable safety and standard guidelines such as company’s SOPs, cGMP, Good Documentation Practices and/or Good Laboratory Practices.
