About The Position

The Quality Control Chemist I works under the general direction of the Quality Control Manager in a cGMP‑regulated manufacturing environment operating under ICH Q7A standards. This role exercises a considerable degree of independence while performing a wide range of analytical and microbiological testing and contributes directly to product quality, process improvement, and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related technical field that includes laboratory instrumentation, or equivalent industry experience.
  • 0–2 years of professional‑level chemist experience.
  • Instrumental and wet chemistry principles and methods

  • Mathematics and statistics
  • Basic analytical laboratory equipment
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Responsibilities

  • Perform analytical testing on cGMP‑regulated products using wet chemistry techniques and laboratory instrumentation in accordance with compendial methods (USP/NF, EP, FCC, JP, etc.).
  • Perform microbiological testing on cGMP‑regulated products using compendial methods.
  • Conduct routine and non‑routine testing using basic and advanced laboratory instrumentation while adhering to strict calibration and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Interpret analytical data and support chemical operators and chemical engineers in applying results to manufacturing processes.
  • Maintain data integrity in both written and electronic systems.
  • Prepare laboratory test solutions and perform volumetric solution standardizations.
  • Write research methods, results, and conclusions for internal reporting and potential publication; may present findings at professional conferences.
  • Review scientific literature and method papers to support current or future research initiatives.
  • Support process validation, root cause analysis, non‑conformance investigations, and statistical data trending.
  • Provide production support, data mining, and problem‑solving tool application.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment.
  • Assist with laboratory supply, reagent, and instrument inventory and ordering.
  • Instruct or train other personnel in specific quality control laboratory techniques.
  • Actively support and enhance site safety initiatives.
