About The Position

QC Analytical Chemistry Technologist IV Imagine starting your day in our Tampa, FL quality control laboratory, where your 8:00 am to 5:00 pm focus is unlocking data that keeps sight-saving medicines safe and effective. Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–5:00 pm Starting pay: $28.85/hour What your day looks like You calibrate instruments, review cGMP-compliant methods, and set up on-demand testing for raw materials, in-process items, finished goods, stability, water, and cleaning verification—always with data integrity at the forefront. You rotate between advanced analytical platforms and wet chemistry, troubleshoot when needed, and verify raw data generated by the lab. You document thoroughly, revise SOPs and specifications when required, and close out investigations with clear root-cause determinations that support manufacturing and quality goals. Core testing you will perform Level 1: HPLC testing for assay of actives and preservatives. Level 2: HPLC testing for impurities. Level 3: GC testing. You’ll also execute and troubleshoot USP, EP, BP, and JP monographs and in-house methods using tools such as HPLC, GC, potentiometric titrators, FT/IR, and UV/VIS.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Chemistry preferred; minimum B.A. in Chemistry or related science.
  • 3–5 years of GMP pharmaceutical chemical analysis experience.
  • Proficient with pharmaceutical analytical techniques and test methods; able to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong time management, keen observation, and problem-solving skills; comfortable multitasking.
  • Hands-on experience with HPLC, GC, FT/IR, UV/VIS; adept at instrument operation and technical troubleshooting.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English; solid basic math skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with LIMS and Empower preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

  • Follow cGMP, company SOPs, and approved test methods.
  • Uphold data integrity and comply with EHS requirements.
  • Verify laboratory raw data and complete assignments on schedule to meet departmental and company objectives.
  • Provide and receive training as needed; support Lean/5S initiatives and meet performance metrics.
  • Revise analytical forms, SOPs, and chemical specifications as procedures evolve.
  • Write and execute laboratory investigations; participate in Laboratory Investigation (LIR) root-cause analysis and conclusions.
  • Perform daily/monthly calibration and preventive maintenance on laboratory instrumentation.
