About The Position

Tindall Corporation, a leading Precast Concrete Manufacturer in the Southeastern U.S., is seeking a QC Analyst to oversee daily quality processes. This role involves conducting routine inspections and testing of precast concrete products, reviewing production documentation, assisting with audits, and coordinating corrective actions. The QC Analyst will also be responsible for concrete testing, validating mixed designs, analyzing trends, and maintaining testing equipment. Additionally, the role involves data analysis and reporting, preparing performance reports, maintaining quality records, and performing root cause analysis. Collaboration with Production, Engineering, Project Management, and Sales is crucial to ensure product quality standards are met. The position also supports the development of quality documentation, provides technical guidance, assists in field issue investigations, and trains production and QC staff on quality standards and best practices. The QC Analyst provides technical direction and training to QC Supervisors and Technicians, can step in for the QC Manager or Supervisor when required, and promotes a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement. Supervision of QC Technicians/Inspectors is also part of the role.

Requirements

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, Materials Science, or related field (or equivalent experience) or equivalent industry experience.
  • 5+ years of quality control experience in a precast, construction, or concrete manufacturing environment.
  • ACI and/or PCI Level I certification (required).
  • Knowledge of industry standards (ASTM, ACI, PCI, DOT) and materials testing procedures.
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment in a manufacturing setting.

Nice To Haves

  • ACI and/or PCI Level II certification (preferred).
  • ACI and/or PCI Level III certification (preferred).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality management software (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily quality processes conducting routine inspections and testing of precast concrete products during various stages of production (pre-pour, post-pour, and final inspection).
  • Reviews production documentation, batch reports, curing records, and inspection logs.
  • Assists with internal and third-party audits.
  • Coordinates corrective and preventive actions and track resolution effectiveness.
  • Assist in investigating and documenting any quality issues or non-conformances and working with production teams to implement corrective actions.
  • Monitors adherence to plant quality control manual and standard operating procedures.
  • Oversee concrete testing including slump, air content, unit weight, compression testing, aggregate gradation, and moisture testing.
  • Validate mixed designs and monitor consistency and performance.
  • Review non-conformance reports and recommend technical resolutions.
  • Analyze trends in compressive strength, defects, and production deviations.
  • Determine, monitor, and verify sample requests from sales and others, as needed.
  • Calibrate, maintain, and verify accuracy of testing equipment in accordance with industry standards.
  • Collects, analyzes, and interprets QC data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Prepares weekly and monthly quality performance reports for management.
  • Maintains digital and hard-copy quality records as required including but not limited to test results, quality non-conformances, and corrective actions.
  • Assists in KPI development related to quality metrics (rework rates, reject rates, strength averages, etc.).
  • Perform root cause analysis and report findings with recommendations to management.
  • Works closely with Production, Engineering, Project Management and Sales to ensure product quality standards is met.
  • Support the development and maintenance of quality documentation, including work instructions, control plans, and inspection protocols.
  • Provides technical guidance during new product development or specialty projects.
  • Supports field issue investigations and root cause analysis.
  • Train production staff on quality standards, procedures, and best practices.
  • Assist in training Quality Control staff in quality standards, procedures, and best practices.
  • Provides technical direction and training to QC Supervisors and Technicians.
  • Steps in for the QC Manager or Supervisor when required.
  • Promotes a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Provides supervision, direction, and assignments to QC Technicians / QC Inspectors (as assigned).
