About The Position

The Quality Control Administrator is responsible for ensuring the ASME Quality Control Department products and processes meet specifications and assisting the QC Manager in his duties. This role involves managing ASME QC system documentation, reviewing drawings and documents, creating weld maps, ensuring ASME code compliance, and performing various quality control tasks such as testing and inspections.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as charts, procedure manuals, and job instructions with basic problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to accurately read and record measurements using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools, as well as read a tape-measure.
  • Ability to work in a high-stress, fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to operate computer and computer software, to include Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to use department equipment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in receiving material into inventory based on purchase order requirements.
  • Measures parts and components using micrometer, tape measure, and caliper.
  • Reviews and signs Material Receiving Reports for tank heads and verifies heads meet required specifications.
  • Manages ASME QC system documentation, including completing National Board U1 reports.
  • Reviews drawings, writes, prints, and places all ASME documents in the job traveler file packet and delivers to Production Manager for review and fabrication.
  • Reviews all ASME documents in the job file after fabrication for completion and accuracy (Heat #s etc.) and assists in compiling of job books per customer request.
  • Creates weld maps for ASME B31.3 Pipe welding.
  • Ensures ASME code compliance and reviews all WPQ documents.
  • Assists QMS manager in keeping all equipment continuity and calibration logs current.
  • Assists in documentation of all welding procedures and works with CWI and QC Technicians to ensure welder qualification.
  • Writes documentation for hydrotesting and air testing of ASME Vessels.
  • Performs air testing and Hydro testing of tanks, skids, and pressure vessels.
  • Assists in in-process quality audits and new program inspections.
  • Schedules all NDE visits for ASME Code work and supplies purchase order worksheets.
  • Responsible for ASME audit and pre-audit reviews.
  • Responsible for stamping and installation of ASME Vessel serial # tags.
  • Works with department personnel to develop and record new procedures and work instructions.
  • Performs in-process weld inspections to the required code or standard.
  • Performs additional duties as needed.
