About The Position

Join a team delivering some of the nation's most complex industrial construction projects. As a QA/QC Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring construction activities meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance. Working alongside experienced project teams, you'll perform inspections, verify workmanship, and help deliver successful projects for customers across a variety of industrial markets. The QA/QC Technician is responsible for performing quality control inspections and quality assurance activities throughout all phases of industrial construction projects. This role supports project teams by verifying that materials, fabrication, installation, and workmanship comply with project specifications, customer requirements, applicable codes, and company quality standards. Working closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, craft personnel, subcontractors, and customers, the QA/QC Technician documents inspection results, identifies quality concerns, and helps ensure projects are completed safely, accurately, and in accordance with contractual requirements.

Requirements

  • Two or more years of experience in industrial construction, fabrication, mechanical, piping, or QA/QC inspection.
  • Experience reading and interpreting construction drawings, isometrics, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Experience completing quality documentation, inspection reports, and turnover records.
  • Knowledge of industrial construction methods and quality inspection practices.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and applicable codes.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Ability to identify quality deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and electronic documentation systems.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with project teams.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience inspecting industrial construction, welding, piping, structural steel, or mechanical installations preferred.
  • Experience working in refinery, power generation, manufacturing, chemical, or heavy industrial construction environments preferred.
  • Technical school, vocational training, or associate's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification preferred.
  • OSHA 10-Hour or OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections of piping, structural steel, welding, mechanical, and equipment installations to verify compliance with project specifications and applicable codes.
  • Complete inspection reports, quality documentation, turnover packages, and project quality records accurately and on time.
  • Verify material traceability, receiving inspections, and proper installation of equipment and materials.
  • Identify, document, and communicate nonconforming work while supporting corrective action activities.
  • Review project drawings, specifications, inspection and test plans (ITPs), and quality procedures before inspections.
  • Support hydrostatic testing, pressure testing, welding inspections, and other quality verification activities.
  • Participate in customer, third-party, and internal quality inspections and audits.
  • Maintain inspection records and ensure documentation is organized and readily available for project turnover.
  • Collaborate with project management, field supervision, craft personnel, subcontractors, and customers to resolve quality issues.
  • Promote a culture of safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement on every project.
