About The Position

Our customer is looking for a Senior QA Tester to support an existing contract to support the build out of new voting machine software. This role will run through the end of March 2027 with potential for extension.

Requirements

  • 24 years of QA experience, with a focus on delivering high-quality solutions within tight deadlines.
  • 24 years of experience creating and maintaining test cases and test suites, as well as executing different types of testing, including: Functional testing, System testing, Integration testing, Regression testing, User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
  • Strong understanding of QA principles and processes, including: Test case and test suite development, Bug/defect reporting, Requirements traceability, Software builds and releases, Testing deliverables and test execution processes
  • Experience with software testing techniques, including: Boundary Value Analysis (BVA), Equivalence Class Partitioning, Decision Table Testing, State Transition Testing, Use Case Testing, Error Guessing, Exploratory Testing
  • Basic understanding of the different test levels, including: Unit, Component, System, System Integration, Acceptance
  • Basic Linux knowledge and hands-on experience with day-to-day Linux activities. Experience can be with Ubuntu, Red Hat, or another Linux distribution.
  • Basic programming/scripting skills in Bash, Python, JavaScript, or another programming/scripting language. The candidate should be comfortable reading, understanding, and using scripts as part of testing and troubleshooting activities.
  • Basic networking fundamentals and hands-on troubleshooting knowledge, including: Understanding of the OSI/network layers, TCP/IP fundamentals, IP addressing and subnetting, DNS, DHCP, Network connectivity troubleshooting, Ability to determine whether an issue is related to the application, operating system, virtualization layer, or network
  • Familiarity with computing and reporting tools and technologies, including Excel, smartphones, tablets, and similar devices.

  • ISTQB Certification
  • Strong Linux experience, including more advanced troubleshooting and configuration capabilities.
  • Familiarity with hardware equipment and electronic devices in a laboratory environment.
