About The Position

The 2nd Shift QA Technician works in the Food Safety/HACCP department at JBS Pork’s Beardstown, Illinois facility. The role assures regulatory compliance, customer specifications, product quality, and food safety programs within the plant. It reports directly to the Quality Supervisor and involves assisting with daily quality tasks, reviewing product performance, supporting quality and food-safety programs, and helping with employee development and training. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with weekends and flexibility as needed. Travel requirements are 0–5%.

Requirements

At least 6 months of experience in technical services, quality assurance, food safety, auditing, or production.
Understanding of USDA requirements, including HACCP.
Ability to prioritize tasks.
Ability to provide leadership and motivation to engage employees in the business.
Basic computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Ability to learn and use knife skills.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to perform the job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
Internal applicants must have fewer than 2 attendance points and no written warnings or suspensions in the last calendar year.

Responsibilities

Assist the Quality Supervisor with designated daily tasks.
Work with Quality team members to review product performance, respond to questions and complaints, and help ensure yield and efficiency expectations are met.
Assist with planning, coordinating, and directing quality, regulatory, and food-safety programs to ensure compliance with company, governmental, and customer requirements.
Assist with employee management, selection, training and development, performance management, staff efficiencies, and yield and efficiency opportunities; document and track identified opportunities.
Train and assist with cross-training technicians and examiners.
