About The Position

Rodeo Cannabis Co. is a vertically integrated cannabis company with cultivation, manufacturing, and dispensary operations in Connecticut. We are hiring a QA Technician to lead our packaging department at our Sterling, CT facility. This is a hands-on quality leadership role responsible for ensuring all packaged products meet Connecticut regulatory standards and Rodeo's brand standards before shipment. The QA Technician will lead a packaging team of 3 to 10 technicians across multiple product types including vapes, gummies, pre-rolls, and flower.

Requirements

  • Exceptional attention to detail with proven accuracy across labels, counts, and documentation.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to give clear direction and escalate effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions on a fast-paced production floor.
  • Reliable, accountable, and consistent work ethic.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, perform repetitive bending and reaching, and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to follow and enforce strict SOPs in a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Comfortable working across multiple product types and shifting priorities throughout the day.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older per Connecticut cannabis regulations.
  • Must successfully pass a background check as required by Connecticut cannabis industry compliance.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior team lead or supervisory experience in packaging, manufacturing, or quality control.
  • Prior experience in cannabis packaging or quality assurance, especially across multiple product types.
  • Familiarity with label design, label printing, or label verification workflows.
  • Experience with seed-to-sale compliance tracking systems such as Biotrack or METRC.
  • Background in regulated manufacturing (food, pharmaceutical, or cannabis).
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and develop team members.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a packaging team of 3 to 10 technicians across daily production runs.
  • Direct and prioritize packaging activities across multiple product types: vapes, gummies, pre-rolls, and flower.
  • Print, verify, and approve product labels in accordance with branding and compliance specifications.
  • Enforce all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and Connecticut cannabis regulations throughout packaging operations.
  • Conduct in-line quality control checks to ensure accuracy in labels, printing, unit counts, and finished product appearance.
  • Make on-the-floor decisions to keep production moving while protecting quality and compliance.
  • Escalate quality concerns, deviations, or compliance risks promptly and clearly to leadership.
  • Train, coach, and develop team members on packaging procedures, quality standards, and SOPs.
  • Maintain accurate packaging records, batch logs, and compliance documentation.
  • Partner with production, branding, and inventory teams to keep packaging aligned with overall operations.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying process gaps and proposing solutions.
