About The Position

Gibbon Packing, LLC, an American Foods Group Company has an opportunity for a QA Tech - Harvest at our Gibbon, NE plant. As a QA Tech - Harvest you will complete in-process audits, extra audits where needed, and Harvest Monitoring Sponges. You will also check the hand and knife chlorine spray system for slaughter, and observe employees at the start of the shift for sanitizing and clean equipment. This role involves communicating any mechanical problems to maintenance and any deficiencies to supervisors or lead employees, writing work orders if needed, and monitoring the cleanliness of the production area. The QA Tech - Harvest ensures all Food Safety, SQF, and Safety policies are followed, makes sure all employees are wearing proper PPE specific to their job areas, and conducts active Food Securing and Defense surveillance inside the facility and its operations. Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate in English (speak, read, and write).
  • Must be able to work in a variety of work temperatures warm, hot, humid, cold, wet or with slippery surfaces at varied heights in and around moving equipment and parts with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Must be able to perform the job duties with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Ability to work extended scheduled hours Monday through Saturday with daily overtime. Must be able to work overtime as required. Start times and hours vary based on production needs.
  • Must be able to successfully complete training: Safety, Safe Quality Food (SQF), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Food defense.
  • Must be able to maintain the integrity of confidential information.
  • Strong investigative and analytical skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to interact with a wide range of perspectives from leadership to production staff employees.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior quality assurance experience.
  • Prior production experience in a USDA inspected beef, pork, or poultry facility.
  • Work history in the last 12 months.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in Spanish (speak, read, and write).
