About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented QA/QC Technician to support data center telecom projects. This is a quality auditing role (not installation) focused on inspecting completed work, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and documenting findings for project teams. This position is ideal for someone with a strong structured cabling background who understands what a “clean, compliant install” looks like and can effectively audit work against those standards.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in structured cabling or telecom environments
  • Strong understanding of: Copper and fiber cabling systems, Rack layout and cable management standards, Pre-terminated systems and installation best practices
  • QA/QC mindset — able to assess work critically and identify issues
  • Experience with inspection, auditing, or quality assurance processes
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to “see what’s wrong”
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
  • Professional demeanor in client-facing job sites
  • OSHA 10 certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start)
  • Must provide own safety boots
  • Strong reliability, punctuality, and work ethic

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in data center environments
  • Familiarity with: Fiber optics, OSP or broader telecom infrastructure
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Exposure to training or coaching on quality standards

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily quality inspections across active data center sites
  • Audit completed telecom installations, including: Copper and fiber cabling, Rack layouts and cable dressing, Installed telecom equipment
  • Verify installations meet industry and manufacturer standards
  • Document inspection findings, including: Non-conformities, Potential risks, Areas for improvement
  • Maintain accurate QA/QC checklists, reports, and audit logs
  • Communicate findings clearly to site leadership and project teams
  • Ensure adherence to: BICSI, TIA, and OEM specifications, Data center standards and best practices, Local, state, and national codes
  • Stay up to date on evolving industry standards
  • Identify deviations from quality standards and escalate as needed
  • Provide recommendations to improve quality, reduce risk, and increase efficiency
  • Support training efforts around quality standards and best practices
  • Willingness to support installation teams if QA workload fluctuates
