About The Position

This is a pure QA/QC auditing role inside data centers. The QA/QC technician will audit telecom installations to ensure everything is installed correctly, tested, dressed properly, and functioning as designed. The role focuses on auditing, inspections, testing, and documentation of telecom equipment, cabling (copper & fiber), and rack layouts and cable dressing. While this role does not involve installation work, the candidate should ideally be willing to assist with installation work if quality work slows down to support the team. The ideal candidate must understand what "right" looks like in terms of installation and be able to identify risks and non-conformities.

Requirements

  • Familiarity in quality assurance/control.
  • Have an understanding of all aspects of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of adult learning concepts.
  • Agile in willingness and ability to take on different projects or learn new areas.
  • Excellent time management skills, public speaking skills, problem-solving skills and both verbal and written communication skills.
  • Minimum of 2 years in structured cabling.
  • Have an understanding of both industry and manufacturer’s standards and proper installation of cable infrastructure.
  • Audit, inspection report, low voltage, Quality assurance, attention to detail, documentation process, corrective action plans, Fiber optic cable, Technical support, Osp.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Think critically.
  • Must understand how to look for issues.
  • Must know what “right” looks like.
  • Outside‑of‑data‑center experience is acceptable if fundamentals are strong: Examples: CAT5/6 installs, fiber termination, telecom work.

Nice To Haves

  • Learning Management System experience preferred
  • Ideally the candidate will be willing to do install work, if quality work slows down to help support the team.

Responsibilities

  • Perform QA/QC Inspections/Observations on a daily basis of assigned sites.
  • Document findings include non-conformities, potential risks, and areas for improvement as outlined in the QA/QC checklist.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of all Inspection activities, findings, and follow-ups.
  • Assist, when applicable, on training employees in quality standards and best practices to maintain consistent compliance.
  • Detect any deviations from quality standards and report them to the QA/QC Manager, site supervisors or other relevant personnel.
  • Work with your Manager to provide recommendations to enhance quality standards, minimize risks, and improve efficiency.
  • Stay up to date with industry changes and adjust quality practices accordingly.
  • Stay up to date with industry, manufacturing and internal standards, local, state and national codes, and best practices to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Audit telecom installations to ensure everything is installed correctly, tested, dressed properly, and functioning as designed.
  • Perform audits, inspections, testing, and documentation of telecom equipment, cabling (copper & fiber), and rack layouts and cable dressing.
  • Think like an auditor, not an installer.
  • Identify risks and non-conformities.
  • Communicate findings clearly and professionally.
