Requirements

  • 1-3 years of hands on Quality Assurance experience within the food manufacturing industry.
  • 2-3 years previous hands on experience as a QA Technician in a fast paced food-processing/manufacturing environment and food testing lab.
  • Working knowledge and experience of current North American food safety regulations and GFSI requirements.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours up to six (6) days a week, weekends, and/or overtime.
  • 3yrs working knowledge and hands on experience of HAACP & SQF auditing.
  • Ability to development of food safety and quality systems through technical leadership.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely through education of production personnel about food safety and quality procedures and requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the fast & accurate finished good decision making.
  • Accurate and prompt handling of production documents.
  • Consistent and accurate testing of raw materials and work in progress to support verification and compliance to customer specs.
  • Ensure that raw material or finished products are inspected and released in a timely manner and that non-conforming product disposition is handled in an efficient manner.
  • Ensure that packaging and ingredients meet specifications prior to production.
  • Conduct swabbing and other sampling (water, air, etc.) following environmental monitoring program and perform trend analysis.
  • Report any GMP violation or non-conformity, conduct investigation and follow up on the CAPA.
  • Assists in the investigation of customer complaints and dispositions of out-of-date materials.
  • Maintain the electronic records system and portals up-to-date, participate in equipment calibration and lab supply orders, and in the safety program.
  • Assisting with the recommendation of changes to manufacturing practices and/or production flow to ensure the safety of products.
  • Maintain QA records in safe, secure and orderly manner.
  • Participate in internal and external quality audits.
  • Maintain a clean & tidy work area.
