LAUSD QA/QC Technical Reviewer - Structural
About The Position
Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) is seeking a Structural QA/QC Technical Reviewer. This is a full-time, direct hire position located in Los Angeles, CA. The role involves providing quality assurance and quality control, constructability, and peer reviews for District projects in design and construction. The reviewer will also prepare and review structural standards and specifications, provide technical review and advice on product substitutions and deviations, and offer technical guidance to various stakeholders. The position requires effective communication and collaboration with architects, engineers, District personnel, and public agency representatives.
Requirements
- Ten (10) years full time paid professional experience in structural engineering planning, design and construction of educational facilities
- Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering or related field. Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for up to 2 years of the educational requirement, on a year-for-year basis.
- Authorization to work lawfully in the US without sponsorship from Simplex is required.
- Must be located in Southern California.
- A valid CA Professional Engineer license by the State Board for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors

Responsibilities
- Perform quality assurance/quality control, constructability, and peer reviews of District projects in design and construction.
- Prepare and review structural standards and specifications for school buildings and other structures.
- Provide structural technical review and advice on proposed product substitutions, deviations from District standards, and technical questions from Owner Authorized Representatives (OARs), Inspectors, Design Managers and A/E teams.
- Provide sustained attention to complex specifications and provide clear detailed comments.
- Write clear and concise reports and technical descriptions for District engineering standards and project reviews.
- Work effectively with commissioned architects and engineers, District personnel, consultant staff, and representatives of public agencies.
