About The Position

This position is responsible for supervising and reviewing Quality Control inspectors, performing field inspections, and reviewing inspection reports and sketches. The role ensures that inspectors complete and document inspection results, summarize re-work and waste, and submit reports within established timelines. The QA/QC Supervisor is also responsible for the preparation and maintenance of Contract Quality Records, technical requirements, and the resolution of quality issues. This role assures the implementation and adherence to the Project Quality Plan on site, conducts ongoing visual inspections of installations, and maintains quality standards by approving materials and products through various tests and measurements. Coordination with Production, Customers, and Third-Party Surveyors is also a key responsibility, as is maintaining a safe and healthy work environment and managing quality issues.

Requirements

High School/GED preferred.
At least six years of Quality Control / NDT and/or NACE experience in a supervisory position in a fabrication shop or Shipyard.
General inspection measuring and testing equipment.
General Computer skills.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and understand codes/specifications, sketches, and technical manuals.
Ability to work under deadlines and schedule pressures.
Strong Organizational skills.
Strong Management Skills with demonstrable experience.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
High performance and a strong team player.

Must meet the definition of a US Person.

Nice To Haves

Additional AWS-CWI certification preferred.
NDT and/or NACE Skills preferred.
Level 2 VT, certifications MT & PT to be earned at a later date to be negotiated at time of hire.
Knowledge of Welding Materials and Codes/Specifications preferred.
NAVSEA experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Supervises and reviews all Quality Control inspectors as assigned.
Performs Field Inspections as needed.
Reviews the preparations of Inspection Reports and Sketches.
Ensures all inspectors complete and document inspection results by completing reports and logs.
Summarizes re-work and waste and submits to the appropriate parties within the times established by the SOW/Contract.
Prepares and maintains Contract Quality Records and technical requirements.
Resolves quality issues.
Assures that the Project Quality Plan is implemented and followed on site.
Conducts ongoing visual inspection of all installations onsite throughout the project duration.
Maintains quality standards by approving incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products; recording quality results.
Approves incoming materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.
Approves in-process production by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; communicating required adjustments to production supervisor.
Approves finished products by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; returning products for re-work; confirming re-work.
Coordinates with Production, Customers and Third-Party Surveyors as required.
Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
Manages and Records quality issues.
