About The Position

The QA/QC Superintendent plays a critical role in ensuring that all prefabrication processes and products meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance. This position is responsible for inspecting raw materials, in-process work, and finished products to ensure they meet blueprints, technical specifications, and client requirements. The QA/QC Superintendent supports continuous improvement efforts, identifies non-conformances, and collaborates with production teams to resolve quality issues and maintain compliance with industry standards, including ISO requirements. This position reports directly to the Director of QA/QC (or designated supervisor) and works closely with production, engineering, and project teams.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2+ years of experience in quality inspection within a fabrication or manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, specifications, and technical drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify defects and deviations.
  • Proficiency with precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Computer literacy, including Microsoft Word and Excel.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional certifications or training in quality control or inspection preferred.
  • Experience with metal fabrication processes and tolerances preferred.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality standards preferred.
  • Welding experience and/or SPC (Statistical Process Control) knowledge a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform visual, dimensional, and functional inspections of raw materials, subassemblies, and finished products.
  • Verify conformity to specifications, blueprints, and industry standards.
  • Utilize precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other inspection instruments.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed inspection records, including logs of non-conformances.
  • Prepare and distribute inspection reports to supervisors, engineers, and management.
  • Communicate quality issues clearly and promptly to relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure adherence to ISO standards, company quality policies, and customer requirements.
  • Participate in internal and external quality audits.
  • Support the enforcement of quality procedures throughout fabrication and assembly processes.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to determine root causes of defects.
  • Recommend and support corrective actions to eliminate quality issues.
  • Provide feedback to help improve manufacturing and inspection processes.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of quality control procedures.
  • Suggest and implement improvements to enhance efficiency, safety, and product quality.
