About The Position

Gallo Mechanical is seeking an experienced QA/QC Superintendent to lead quality assurance and quality control operations on commercial and industrial mechanical construction projects. This position is responsible for ensuring all piping, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical installations meet company standards, contract specifications, industry codes, and client expectations. The QA/QC Superintendent works closely with project management, field supervision, subcontractors, and clients to maintain the highest level of workmanship, compliance, and project execution.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in mechanical construction, quality control, or field supervision.
  • Strong background in HVAC, plumbing, piping, and mechanical systems installation.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, P&IDs, and technical documents.
  • Experience managing inspections, testing procedures, and commissioning processes.
  • Knowledge of applicable mechanical codes and industry standards.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced commercial, industrial, healthcare, pharmaceutical, or manufacturing environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Procore, Bluebeam, and construction management software preferred.
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred.
  • CQM Certification, AWS/CWI, or other QA/QC-related certifications are a plus.
  • Pharmaceutical or industrial construction experience.
  • Experience with clean rooms, process piping, high-purity systems, or mission-critical facilities.
  • Previous experience on large-scale design-build or GMP-regulated projects.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain project-specific QA/QC plans and procedures.
  • Conduct inspections of mechanical systems including HVAC, piping, plumbing, process piping, and sheet metal installations.
  • Verify compliance with project specifications, contract documents, ASME, ANSI, SMACNA, NFPA, and applicable building codes.
  • Coordinate and manage quality inspections, testing, and commissioning activities.
  • Review drawings, submittmits, RFIs, and shop drawings for quality and constructability compliance.
  • Track deficiencies, non-conformance reports (NCRs), punch lists, and corrective actions through completion.
  • Lead quality meetings with project teams, subcontractors, owners, and inspectors.
  • Ensure welding procedures, material traceability, and testing documentation are maintained and compliant.
  • Maintain accurate QA/QC documentation, turnover packages, inspection reports, and closeout records.
  • Collaborate with project superintendents and safety teams to ensure work is completed safely and to quality standards.
  • Assist with startup, commissioning, and owner turnover processes.
  • Mentor field personnel on quality standards, installation best practices, and workmanship expectations.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across field operations and project delivery.
