About The Position

Blaze King / Valley Comfort designs, manufactures, and distributes premium hearth products across North America. From our manufacturing facility in Penticton, BC, we're looking for a detail-oriented, hands-on QA/QC Coordinator to help strengthen our quality systems, support production, and drive continuous improvement across the business. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and using quality data to make meaningful improvements on the shop floor. While the role primarily supports our Penticton operations, occasional collaboration with our Walla Walla, Washington facility may be required.

Requirements

• Minimum five years of experience in QA/QC, quality systems, manufacturing quality, warranty investigation, or failure analysis.
• Experience developing, implementing, or maintaining Quality Management Systems, including document control, supplier quality, inspections, and quality metrics.
• Strong technical problem-solving skills, including root-cause analysis and corrective/preventative action implementation.
• Experience using precision measuring tools in both metric and imperial units.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 and familiarity with ASTM standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with production teams, leadership, suppliers, and customers.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Valid BC Class 5 Driver's License with a clean driving abstract.
• Valid passport and the ability to travel occasionally to the United States.

Nice To Haves

• Post-secondary education in Quality Management, Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred. Equivalent hands-on experience will also be considered.
• Experience with EPA certification requirements is considered a strong asset.
• Experience with ERP systems, Global Shop, DATS, SolidWorks, or other 3D CAD software is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain a practical, process-based Quality Management System that supports operational efficiency, product integrity, and continuous improvement.
• Establish and maintain quality standards, procedures, inspection practices, and Quality Assurance Plans required for product certification.
• Perform product inspections against blueprints and specifications, identify non-conforming parts or materials, and work closely with production to resolve issues without compromising quality.
• Lead investigations into internal quality concerns and external warranty claims, using failure analysis and field data to identify root causes, trends, and preventative actions.
• Track and analyze warranty data, including catalytic combustor warranty claims, and prepare accurate reporting for suppliers, accounting, and leadership.
• Partner with Production, Purchasing, Customer Service, Engineering, and external suppliers to resolve quality and warranty concerns while supporting an exceptional customer experience.
• Support regulatory and certification requirements, including serialized product tracking, product recall processes, and third-party certification audits.
• Prepare QA/QC reports and key performance indicators (KPIs) for management review and lead regular quality review meetings focused on performance, corrective actions, and continuous improvement.
• Promote mistake-proofing, quality self-checks, and other practical quality tools that reduce scrap, prevent errors, and improve manufacturing consistency.
• Provide training, coaching, and support to shop floor personnel while helping foster a culture of quality, safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
