About The Position

The QA Process Tech in pistol assembly will support production with the goal of producing product exceeding customer expectations in an efficient and effective manner. This is a startup assembly process that will grow over time, and the responsibilities of the position will most likely change to keep up with the development of the pistol assembly processes.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Interworking of handguns, and assembly processes.
  • Organize thoughts logically.
  • Proficiency in MS Office products, particularly spreadsheets.
  • Experience using hand-held gauges such as calipers and micrometers.
  • Problem solving abilities.
  • Manufacturing experience is required.

Nice To Haves

  • 2-year degree preferred.
  • Pistol function knowledge a plus.
  • Prior Quality Experience preferred.
  • Any professional certifications will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Complete post firing inspections according to checklist and add other inspections as needed based on customer complaints to contain defects.
  • Perform first-line investigation on MRB (Material Review Board) items, judging cosmetic acceptability at 18 inches, performing dimensional checks, and swapping parts to identify assembly issues. Ensure production tags parts with part numbers.
  • Conduct workstation audits to verify adherence to work instructions, operator performance of required checks, BOM accuracy against build sheets, and correct installation of components.
  • Support the process of issuing and training on QA Alerts, which illustrate accepted and not-accepted conditions for containment and end-user protection.
  • Build and track parts from sub-assembly to final gun for test builds using supplier parts.
  • Conduct measurement studies and capability studies on parts for improvement or corrective action projects.
  • Certify parts for production, such as performing quick backlit visuals on sights to identify issues like missing threads.
  • Adhere to guidelines and procedures for the safe handling, removal, and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
  • Perform other reasonable duties assigned to secure the quality of pistols assembled in this process.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor.
