This position is located at the Bayou La Batre, AL facility and operates on a 4x10 schedule, Monday-Thursday. The Quality Assurance Mechanical Inspector will be responsible for understanding and operating under Birdon’s Quality Management System procedures, work instructions, forms and records, nonconformance logs, and corrective action logs. They will also be responsible for capturing repair/rework costs and creating/maintaining associated mechanical related work instructions, training records, and mounting and alignment records. Collaboration with engineering, production, and program management is expected for developing effective corrective action plans. The role involves conducting various inspections, including bulkhead and deck mounted foundations, monitoring equipment handling and installation, performing pull tests, verifying shaft alignments, and checking vibration, noise, and thermal conditions of machinery.
