About The Position

Provide leadership and guidance for the business unit level Quality Control & Assurance to ensure compliance with quality systems to protect our animals, our customers, and improve our processes and business. Adherence to these quality procedures and systems ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements. The role holder is expected to direct and facilitate the training and education of employees with respect to the quality expectations in the Aviagen Quality Management System (QMS).

  • Check and ensure Aviagen Quality procedures meet/exceed government requirements/regulations
  • Generate ideas to improve quality procedures
  • Participate in development and implementation of new policies, procedures and/or programs
  • Check export chicks/HE conditions at airports/seaports
  • Check day-old GP chicks'/HE physical quality on arrival
  • Monitor DOA and FWM records
  • Monitor PS and By-Product production and chick quality
  • Monitor conditions of chick holding areas and chick transport vehicles
  • Monitor vaccination applications
  • Examine supplier company inspection reports
  • Identify training needs
  • Provide training to employees regarding quality expectations and QMS procedures
  • Involve in selection and hiring process of quality technicians
  • Improve, control and support correct application of QMS
  • Inform hatchery management about preventive/corrective actions
  • Investigate customer complaints and/or non-conformance issues
  • Provide reports on findings and corrective actions

Responsibilities

  • Establishes in-process product inspection standards & policies by studying processing methods; devising testing methods and procedures, working with the company vet and all operations’ managers.
  • Checks and ensures all Aviagen Quality procedures meet and/or exceed government requirements/regulations.
  • Generates ideas to improve quality procedures and participates in development and implementation of new policies, procedures and/or programs.
  • Checks export chicks/HE conditions at airports/seaports at regular intervals.
  • Checks day-old GP chicks' and/or HE physical quality on arrival and communicates feedback.
  • Works with Technical Service and Planning Specialist, monitors the DOA and FWM records ensures that they are recorded in the relevant systems.
  • Follows procedures to monitor PS and By-Product production and chick quality.
  • Monitors the conditions of chick holding areas, chick transport vehicles and informs negative situations to the Hatchery Management and follow up required corrective actions.
  • Monitors the vaccination applications made in hatcheries, examines the supplier company inspection reports and, if possible, accompanies them and informs the vaccination quality to the Hatchery Management team.
  • Identifies training needs and provide training to all employees regarding Aviagen’s quality expectations and how to embody QMS procedures.
  • Gets involved in selection and hiring process of quality technicians.
  • Works with internal Teams, improves, controls and supports the correct application of QMS and informs hatchery management about preventive/corrective actions.
  • Investigates customer complaints and/or non-conformance issues and provides report to Commercial Manager and Technical Managers (customer facing teams) about findings and corrective actions taken and/or will be taken.
