About The Position

The Quality Engineering (QE) Manager leads the software quality organization responsible for web, mobile (React Native), and API test automation across digital products. This role defines the quality engineering vision, shifts testing left, integrates robust automated test suites into GitLab CI/CD pipelines, and manages test environments and quality engineers to ensure fast, defect-free production deployments.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Quality Management, or equivalent experience.
12+ years in Software Quality Engineering and Test Automation.
5+ years of direct experience managing quality engineering teams supporting web and mobile applications.
Experience testing ecommerce systems, including checkout, payments, and product catalogs.
Proven track record building end-to-end test automation solutions for React Native mobile apps and modern web platforms.
Hands-on experience embedding automated test execution within GitLab CI/CD release pipelines.
Demonstrated success managing onshore and offshore quality engineering resources.
Strong command of test automation frameworks (e.g., Microsoft Playwright, BRwoserstack low code, Xray)
Proficiency in API testing using tools like Postman or REST Assured
Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Gitlab Actions)
Solid understanding of performance and security testing
Familiarity with ecommerce platforms and guest-facing workflows (e.g., profile mgmt, upsells, loyalty)
Deep understanding of Agile/Scrum development practices
Experience with risk-based testing and test plan development
Knowledge of bug tracking and test management tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail)

Responsibilities

Formulate and implement comprehensive test automation strategies covering Web UI, React Native mobile apps (iOS & Android), and backend GraphQL/.NET APIs.
Oversee the expansion of automated test frameworks (Cypress, Playwright, Detox, Appium, Maestro) into GitLab CI/CD pipelines to achieve automated regression testing and rapid delivery velocity.
Direct internal quality engineers and offshore testing partners. Drive skill development, test data management, device cloud infrastructure (BrowserStack/Sauce Labs), and performance/load testing capabilities.
Establish quality metrics (defect density, automation coverage, test execution speed) and enforce release quality gates in partnership with Product, Engineering, and DevOps leads.
Perform all other administrative and organizational duties as required (time keeping, training, travel, collaboration and correspondence, etc.)
