About The Position

SMT is seeking a Quality Assurance (QA) Intern to support software development and product management through rigorous testing and troubleshooting methods. The intern will work within the Engineering department, predominantly on tennis-focused projects, reporting directly to the SMT-JAX QA Manager. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, curiosity, problem-solving skills, and strong written communication and documentation abilities. The intern will contribute to the success of SMT's technology, including sports broadcast, scoring, and data collection products. This is a 6-month internship, beginning in February/March 2027 and concluding at the end of the 2027 summer, with the possibility of reporting to the Jacksonville, FL office as needed.

Requirements

Pursuing an Associates or Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
Fundamental understanding of major sports, tennis preferred.
Strong attention to detail and dedication to efficiently working problems to resolution.
A self-motivated mentality with stellar time management and organizational skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Willingness to learn and research new methodologies.
A curiosity for identifying and solving problems.

Responsibilities

Test software for various tennis applications.
Learn scripting, maintenance, testing, and documentation of the testing process.
Perform basic programming tasks.
Schedule and conduct tests.
Resolve conflicts to meet test objectives.
Record all constraints on testing.
Provide full documentation of all deviations from the test plan.
Capture all data required to support test findings.
Produce clear and objective reports of test result data.
Assess the testing process, including methods of improvement.
