About The Position

The QA Inspector Level I audits processes to ensure all systems and procedures are being followed and inspects product to ensure requirements are being met. This role involves inspecting finished or in-process products against standards using simple measuring tools and equipment for acceptance or rejection. The inspector assures compliance with line clearance, raw materials, in-process inspection, manufacturing, and housekeeping. They will use basic math skills, including decimals and fractions, simple use of formulas, charts, tables, drawings, specifications, computer scanning devices, and adjustable measuring instruments. The role also includes checking reports, forms, records, and comparable data to ensure compliance to procedures and requirements, and using some judgment to comply with instructions, prescribed routines, methods, and/or practices involving minor decisions. Additionally, the QA Inspector must maintain regular and consistent attendance and comply with EHS policies and applicable regulatory and company EHS rules and requirements, including prompt reporting of unsafe conditions and active participation in EHS trainings and goal achievement. Safe work habits, including correct lifting and bending techniques, proper ergonomics, correct equipment usage, and wearing required PPE, are essential. Strict adherence to all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LO/TO), is required. The role also requires following and ensuring adherence to Product Safety and Quality standards, GMPs regarding food contact packaging, IPC product defense standards, and all SQF requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with a minimum of 3 months of experience in quality inspection.
  • Ability to speak one-on-one and in group situations, understand instructions and follow standard operating procedures (SOP’s), testing standards and forms.
  • Ability to interact with various groups of people.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; simple use of formulas, charts, drawings, specifications, etc.
  • Ability to use MS Suite (Word, Excel, Access) and data acquisition software.
  • Ability to use measuring devices, such as scales, magna mic, force gages, micrometers, calipers, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Checks reports, forms, records and comparable data to ensure compliance to procedures and requirements.
  • Comply with the EHS Policy and applicable regulatory and company EHS rules and requirements.
  • Prompt reporting of any unsafe conditions, practices, or environmental concerns to supervision.
  • Resolving potential hazards swiftly, thereby ensuring a safe work environment for all employees.
  • Attend scheduled EHS trainings.
  • Actively assist the organization in achieving or surpassing EHS goals.
  • Identify areas for improvement in EHS practices and recommend enhancements to contribute to our commitment to a safe work environment.
  • Demonstrates safe work habits by adhering to general safety procedures, including correct techniques for lifting and bending, maintaining proper ergonomics, using equipment correctly, and wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Ensures strict adherence to all safety procedures, including the enforcement and discipline related to Lockout/Tagout (LO/TO) procedures.
  • Follows and ensures adherence to Product Safety and Quality standards.
  • Follows GMP’s regarding food contact packaging as it pertains to the employee.
  • Follows and ensures adherence to IPC product defense standards and complies with all SQF requirements.
