About The Position

Responsible for food safety, food quality and site safety. This role involves monitoring the last 24 hours of plant operation, addressing immediate issues with priority given to containing suspect product, and reviewing schedules to ensure machines are following proper procedures, including labeling and line clearance. The QA Inspector will also manage hold inventory, attend scheduling meetings, communicate daily issues to the quality manager, and assist supervisors and quality technicians with quality-related matters. Additionally, the role requires ensuring all startups meet target specifications or are within acceptable ranges after all efforts are made. Reporting of tooling issues affecting quality or target specifications will be done in the SQL mold maintenance program. Before the end of the shift, a review of pending issues and communication documentation with the supervisor and lab techs is required.

  • Understanding of production schedules and machine adherence.
  • Knowledge of proper labeling and line clearance procedures.
  • Experience with managing hold inventory.

  • Strong communication skills for reporting issues to management.
  • Skill in assisting supervisors and technicians with quality issues.
  • Capability to ensure startups meet target specifications.
  • Experience with SQL mold maintenance program for reporting tooling issues.
  • Ability to document and communicate pending issues.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor the last 24 hours of plant operation.
  • Address any issues that need immediate attention with priority given to the containment of any suspect product.
  • Review schedule and tour the floor assuring all machines are following schedule and proper labeling is being performed.
  • Look for line clearance issues.
  • Review hold ware and bring to production what can be sorted or ground.
  • Attend any scheduling meetings.
  • Communicate all daily issues with the quality manager.
  • Work with all supervisors in assisting them with any quality issues and/or quality technician issues.
  • Assure all start-ups meet target specs and/or are within spec after exhausting all efforts to reach target.
  • Report in SQL mold maintenance program all issues with tooling that is causing quality issues or our goal of reaching target specs.
  • Before leaving for the day, go over with supervisor and lab techs all pending issues and review communication documentation.
