About The Position

The QA Inspector is responsible for ensuring product quality through various inspection processes. This role involves first piece approval, in-process inspections, final audits, and receiving inspections. The inspector will create and maintain documentation, manage samples, and identify non-conforming products. Support for production operators and customer-specific requirements is also a key part of the role. This position requires a strong understanding of quality management systems and manufacturing processes, particularly injection molding.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a Quality Assurance or inspection role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Capable of working independently with minimal supervision and completing all required duties consistently.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Experienced in good manufacturing practices and quality initiatives and programs.
  • Some experience with QMS systems including ISO9001/ ISO13485/ AS9100.
  • Ability to develop and maintain a team oriented work environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of injection molding processes.
  • Physically capable of frequently lifting boxes up to 30 lbs.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain a consistent pace in a fast moving production environment.
  • Experience with computers and computer software such as Microsoft Office or inspection related software.
  • Experience with engineering part drawings related to part geometry, dimensions & tolerances, drawing views, and interpretation of requirements.
  • Proficient use of hand-held measuring instruments.
  • Experience with micrometers, height gauges, calipers, indicators, and optical comparator.
  • Knowledge and interpretation skills regarding the principles of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance.
  • Working knowledge of inspecting techniques and testing procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Perform first piece approval and in-process sample inspections.
  • Manage all part samples related to jobs running on the production floor.
  • Document non-conforming products by opening NCRs.
  • Provide quality support to production machine operators and team members.
  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of all QA floor documentation.
  • Perform AQL sample final inspections.
  • Perform AQL sample receiving inspections for all incoming items.
  • Ensure all incoming items have certifications and that certifications are properly scanned and associated correctly.
  • Create and accurately supply all certification of compliance documents as per customer requirements.
  • Ensure that all required final and receiving inspection records are complete and accurate.
  • Backup and assist with floor inspections and secondary final inspections when workload permits or team members are absent.
