About The Position

INTRODUCTION: This job description describes the authority, duties, responsibilities, reporting relationships and measure of accomplishment for the functional position of the Quality Inspector of All-Plastics. BASIC FUNCTION: Inspects product received and manufactured for conformance to established standards by visual and mechanical measurements. AUTHORITY: The Quality Inspector receives sufficient authority from and is accountable to the QA Manager for the successful completion of assigned duties and responsibilities. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: The Quality Inspector reports directly to the QA Manager This position does not supervise any direct reports.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent with related work experience in manufacturing/injection molding
  • Expresses written and verbal ideas in a clear and efficient manner.
  • Interpersonal – seeks input from others, willingly collaborates, cooperates and communicates with others in the organization.
  • Capability in reading blueprints
  • Ability to organize and manage documentation/reports.
  • Ability to think through a situation, recognize, secure and evaluate facts in reaching a conclusion/decision.
  • Adept at self-managing time, skills and resources to meet goals.
  • Ability to distinguish color differences on critical color matches.
  • Includes lifting, sitting, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and use of hands and arms.
  • Job may require heavy lifting (Up to 50 lbs.).
  • Peripheral vision and depth perception required.
  • Must be capable of wearing personal safety equipment, such as visual devices, hearing devices and back supports.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English.
  • This position requires a strong math and mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the QA Manager and Manufacturing by inspecting product and analyzing the data that may be affecting the product or processes. Initiating action appropriate to the situation.
  • Inspects product during the manufacturing process at prescribed intervals or per sampling plans. Assures proper labeling and sign off prior to customer shipment.
  • To assure consistency in inspection methods, performs all inspections per procedures/work instructions. Initiates changes to procedures as appropriate.
  • Maintains inspection records/reports
  • Immediately reports all discrepancies in product or processes to the Quality Manager.
  • Initiates non-conforming tags when product is identified as discrepant or suspect.
  • Various other duties as assigned
