About The Position

Arena Club is redefining the sports cards and memorabilia landscape through the industry’s first digital card show. Co-founded by 5x World Series Champion Derek Jeter and serial entrepreneur Brian Lee, Arena Club delivers a fully digital, trust-driven marketplace built for collectors. Our platform integrates grading and authentication, vaulting, and digital pack experiences, empowering users to buy, sell, and showcase collections in personalized online showrooms from anywhere in the world. We’re seeking a QA Engineer to join our team as a technical gatekeeper for quality. At Arena Club, QA is deeply integrated into the development lifecycle: every developer ticket requires manual verification and approval from our QA team before release. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a high-automation environment (~90% coverage) but understands the critical value of manual exploratory testing for new features. You will be a Playwright and TypeScript specialist, a SQL power-user for technical support, and a performance advocate ensuring our mobile experience is world-class across all devices.

Requirements

4+ years of QA Engineering experience in a fast-paced software environment
Strong hands-on experience writing and maintaining automation frameworks using Playwright and TypeScript
Solid SQL skills (including joins and complex queries) to assist with technical support and data integrity checks
Prior experience in a technical customer support role or a high-collaboration engineering environment
A disciplined approach to manual testing for critical flows and a commitment to high-quality documentation
Comfortable working as a contractor in a global, distributed team

Nice To Haves

Specific experience performing automation and performance testing across a variety of mobile devices (real devices, not emulators) using Appium

Responsibilities

Act as the final checkpoint for every developer ticket, performing manual verification and release testing to ensure all regression and automation tests pass.
Build and maintain end-to-end (E2E) test suites using Playwright and TypeScript, focusing on new feature development and closing existing automation gaps.
Leverage SQL to perform data validation, investigate complex technical support escalations, and troubleshoot backend workflows.
Own the execution of functional, non-functional, regression, and smoke testing, with a specific focus on performance testing across different mobile devices.
Partner with Engineers to define test coverage while developers manage unit/integration tests, ensuring a robust E2E testing layer.
Log, track, and retest defects with high-precision documentation and reproducible steps.
