About The Position

commonsku is revolutionizing the promotional products industry with its SaaS platform, empowering branded merch distributors to manage projects, build quotes, place orders, and collaborate seamlessly. This role is for a QA Automation Engineer Co-op to join the Research & Development team from September-December 2026. The intern will help maintain product quality by testing features before production, ensuring a low-defect experience for customers. They will collaborate with product and engineering teams, contribute to a high-trust environment, and play a role in shaping the industry's future.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Practical experience or coursework involving database-driven web application testing and software version control systems (Git).
  • Exposure to or hands-on experience with TypeScript and integration test frameworks such as Playwright or Selenium.
  • A collaborative approach to software quality with excellent communication skills.
  • An innovative mindset with the ability to learn new technologies quickly.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple overlapping priorities effectively.
  • Comfort working independently and asynchronously, while also prioritizing collaboration and connection with people.
  • Experience (or excitement for) working with AI

Responsibilities

  • Assist in designing and documenting test plans and test cases for new and existing features based on requirements and specifications.
  • Execute manual, exploratory, system, functional, integration, regression, and smoke testing under the guidance of senior QA team members.
  • Document and report bugs, failures, and test results clearly and consistently, while supporting the investigation and re-testing of defects.
  • Learn and contribute to automated test scripts as opportunities arise.
  • Collaborate with developers and designers to understand features, flag potential issues, and help ensure the team meets acceptance criteria and QA standards.
  • Communicate testing status and findings to the team regularly to help support a positive customer experience.
