About The Position

AFG Group, Inc. is seeking a QA Electrical Inspector proficient in performing inspections of construction in the Electrical trade discipline. The projects will involve various types of spaces including clinical and patient care units, biomedical research laboratories (BSL-2, BSL-3, BSL-4), animal spaces, Current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) rated facilities, office spaces, interior and exterior utility systems (chiller and steam plants, electrical vaults), and general purpose areas like paving, roofing, building exteriors, and utility efficiency upgrades. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management and seven (7) years of practical construction inspection experience; OR Two years degree, Trade/Vocation School certification, or Journeyman, Master tradesman or General Contractor’s License in a building trade or craft and ten (10) years of practical construction inspection experience; OR High School Diploma and fifteen (15) years practical construction inspection experience in a building craft/trade.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
  • Experience in preparing correspondence and maintaining official construction site records using Microsoft Office applications.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction practices and workmanship, including experience in proper uses of construction materials and installation methods.
  • In-depth experience in interpreting construction drawings and specification in construction projects.
  • Ability and experience to conduct inspections in Architectural/Structural/Civil of materials, workmanship, construction, and installations.
  • Knowledge of safety practices in the construction industry, including a background or familiarity with OSHA requirements for construction projects.
  • Minimum OSHA 10-hour Construction Industry Outreach class.
  • Ability to obtain HSPD-12 security clearance.
  • Relevant past project experience within the last ten (10) years, including one (1) Infrastructure construction project and one (1) Bio-medical research laboratory construction project.
  • U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency is required for positions requiring security clearance.
