About The Position

WeVote has several open volunteering positions for QA Automation Engineers to help strengthen American Democracy via our Web and Mobile applications. These are long-term, VOLUNTEER opportunities with an Oakland, CA-based non-profit organization. It is expected that you will commit to no less than 6 hours per week for the next six months. WeVote is a nonpartisan get-out-the-vote nonprofit startup and a celebrated Fast Forward nonprofit technology grantee. WeVote is building a movement of excellent, passionate, part-time volunteers (starting with the founders) who build mobile technologies that will touch and mobilize millions of voters on Election Day. We believe that many voters are busy, distracted, and impatient. We have a goal of providing a positive voting experience that helps people decide how to vote.

Requirements

• Functional expertise with Selenium
• Functional expertise with Appium
• Functional expertise with BrowserStack
• Functional expertise with Java Script
• Functional expertise with Web Driver io
• Committed to strengthening American Democracy.
• Located in the US
• Experience working in a remote team environment
• A willingness to work with and support other volunteers.
• Can commit to 6+ hours per week during our core team hours M-F 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. for the next 6+ months

Responsibilities

• Write scripts and create automation environments for repeated tests.
• Using different automation tools, design, test, and deploy effective test automation solutions.
• Automate as much of the testing effort as possible with a minimum set of code.
• Do some manual testing and manual verification each week.
