QA Automation Engineer -Duck Creek
About The Position
Derex Technologies Inc is seeking a QA Automation Engineer with strong experience in Duck Creek and Playwright for an onsite position in Appleton, WI. The role involves analyzing requirements, creating test plans, executing various types of testing (functional, integration, system, regression, smoke, sanity, UAT), and identifying/tracking defects. The engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated test scripts using Playwright and building scalable automation frameworks with TypeScript/JavaScript. Experience in the insurance domain, particularly with Duck Creek Policy, and testing microservices is crucial. The position requires strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in Agile teams. A proactive approach to process improvement and automation adoption is also valued.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance and Testing.
- Minimum 2-3 years of hands-on Playwright Automation experience.
- Strong Insurance domain with Duck Creek Policy.
- Familiarity with defect management and test management tools.
- Experience testing Microservices and distributed applications.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within Agile teams.
- Strong attention to detail and quality mindset.
- Proactive approach toward process improvement and automation adoption.
Responsibilities
- Analyze business requirements, user stories, and technical specifications.
- Create detailed test plans, test scenarios, test cases, and test data.
- Perform Functional, Integration, System, Regression, Smoke, Sanity, and User Acceptance Testing.
- Execute manual tests and document test results.
- Identify, document, track, and verify software defects.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and Developers to clarify requirements and resolve issues.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily standups, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright.
- Build and enhance scalable automation frameworks using TypeScript/JavaScript.
- Automate end-to-end business workflows and regression test suites.
