About The Position

Genesis10 is seeking a QA Automation Engineer for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution in Charlotte, NC. This is a 12+ month contract role supporting both ongoing business-as-usual testing and project-based initiatives. The primary focus will be on developing and maintaining automated testing solutions, with approximately 70% dedicated to API automation and 30% to UI automation. The ideal candidate will possess strong hands-on experience with REST API automation, Java, Selenium, BDD/Cucumber, and database validation.

Requirements

• 3-4+ years of hands-on QA Automation experience preferred
• Strong hands-on experience with API automation and REST APIs
• Understanding of Core Java, including Java Collections and fundamental programming concepts
• Experience with Selenium for UI automation
• Experience with BDD frameworks
• Hands-on Cucumber experience is required
• Ability to apply technical concepts to practical, scenario-based testing problems
• Experience writing basic SQL queries
• Experience with MongoDB or another NoSQL database
• Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and Jira

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated test solutions
• Work within existing automation frameworks and contribute to enhancements
• Develop and maintain API automation, with a primary focus on REST APIs
• Perform UI automation using Selenium and develop automated tests using Java
• Create and maintain BDD-based automation using Cucumber
• Execute functional, regression, integration, and BAU testing activities
• Validate data using SQL and NoSQL databases
• Write SQL queries to retrieve and validate test data
• Work with MongoDB to retrieve, parse, and validate document-based data
• Support testing involving messaging and integration technologies
• Review and validate messages within queue-based systems
• Collaborate with developers, QA engineers, business partners, and other technology teams
• Troubleshoot automation failures and identify potential defects
• Participate in Agile development and testing processes
• Maintain requirements, defects, and testing information using Jira and related tools
• Identify opportunities to improve testing efficiency through automation and emerging technologies
