About The Position

Arbital Health is seeking a QA Automation Engineer to lead and elevate quality across its SaaS platform and its expanding suite of AI-driven capabilities. This role involves driving quality across engineering teams by designing and implementing scalable automated testing solutions, focusing primarily on API testing, with additional responsibility for end-to-end UI testing. The engineer will work in an AI-native environment, utilizing AI coding tools to ship fast without sacrificing quality. Collaboration with developers and product teams to analyze requirements, design automated test cases, and ensure high levels of test coverage and reliability is key. The role requires architecting and implementing scalable test frameworks, driving the automation strategy, and ensuring robust, reliable releases. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in ambiguity, values collaboration, wants to be part of a culture supporting rapid innovation, has proven success in creating comprehensive and maintainable automated tests, can design test strategies blending automated regression coverage with targeted manual testing, has experience testing AI features in production, and can identify quality risks and implement preemptive solutions through automation.

Requirements

  • 2-7 years of experience in QA Automation
  • Strong programming skills and hands-on experience writing automation code (JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or similar)
  • Proven experience using automation frameworks for UI testing, such as Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or similar
  • Experience using AI tools to accelerate QA work — generating test cases, writing automation code, and analyzing test failures
  • Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, build and release tools such as GitHub Actions or Jenkins
  • A critical eye for implementing shift left and value over volume QA philosophies
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, problem-solving skills, and an analytical mindset

Nice To Haves

  • Prior healthcare experience is a plus
  • Startup experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Write, maintain, and scale automated test code for the full stack, APIs, and data validation using modern testing frameworks
  • Collaborate with product managers, actuaries, UX designers, and other engineers to design and implement automated UI tests, API tests, and performance monitoring tests to validate new features and detect regressions in existing features
  • Own the QA automation lifecycle and continuously enhance the automation infrastructure
  • Manage and monitor both automated and manual test execution to support continuous delivery
