About The Position

We need an experienced QA Automation Engineer at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The SEC's Division of Corporation Finance reviews public company filings to ensure investors are provided with the material information they need to make informed investment decisions. The Disclosure Review Program (DRP) System — also known as SWAT (System of Workflow and Activity Tracking) is the cloud-based platform that enables this review work, integrating with EDGAR and other SEC systems to support the review of transactional and annual filings. In this role, you will build and maintain a comprehensive automated test suite, conduct static code analysis, dependency analysis, and container scanning, run load and performance tests, and ensure 508 compliance across the DRP System. Requirements

  • Proficiency in Java, Python, JavaScript.
  • Hands-on experience with tools like Selenium, Playwright, Cypress.
  • Ability to validate REST and SOAP APIs using tools like Postman, RestAssured, or SoapUI.
  • Solid working knowledge of SQL to verify backend data.
  • Experience connecting automated tests to deployment pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions.
  • Familiarity with Agile practices, creating and estimating tasks in Jira, and interpreting user stories.

Nice To Haves

  • Some exposure to AI technologies including GitHub Copilot.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for building and maintaining a comprehensive automated test suite using Python, Selenium and other tools covering unit, integration, and regression tests across all DRP System modules and components.
  • Employ automated testing and deployment methodologies to the maximum extent possible, while maintaining the manual testing activities necessary for complete 508 compliance validation.
  • Conduct static code analysis, dependency analysis, and container scanning using SEC-approved tooling.
  • Run load and performance tests at regular intervals to assess the speed, reliability, and scalability of the DRP System under expected and peak transaction volumes.
  • Conduct 508 compliance testing through both automated and manual means.
  • Create and maintain a comprehensive repository of test plans and cases that cover at least 95% of system code and configurations.
