About The Position

As a System Test Specialist, you will directly contribute to the validation and quality of our PIC (Photonic Integrated Circuits) and CTP10 product stations. Working closely with R&D teams, your primary role will be to design, document, and execute manual and semi-automated test plans on complex systems integrating optical, electrical, and mechanical instruments. We are looking for an autonomous and resourceful individual, capable of quickly learning the test environment and taking charge of test planning and execution in a context where product knowledge is still developing within the team.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in a technical field (electronics, optics, instrumentation, computer science) or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years in a laboratory testing or quality assurance role involving manual test execution.
  • Proficiency in French and ability to read and write technical English.
  • Experience in manual testing in an environment integrating hardware and software (laboratory instruments, optical/electrical setups, test stations, etc.).
  • Ability to develop test plans and test cases from high-level requirements and/or exploratory approaches.
  • Comfortable with documenting test procedures and using anomaly tracking tools (e.g., Jira, QA Touch, etc.).

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with the use or validation of optical, electrical, or mechanical laboratory equipment is a significant asset.

Responsibilities

  • Design and document manual test cases to validate new features and product behavior.
  • Execute tests on PIC and CTP10 stations, including a wide variety of laboratory instruments (e.g., lasers, optical sensors, motion controllers, signal generators).
  • Collaborate with developers, system engineers, and integration teams to understand product functionality and ensure adequate test coverage.
  • Identify, document, and track anomalies or unexpected behaviors using incident tracking tools.
  • Create and maintain clear, reusable test documentation for future quality assurance activities.
  • Contribute to developing product knowledge within the team by sharing observations and documentation.

Benefits

  • Work on cutting-edge test platforms used for validating photonic and telecom technologies.
  • Play a key role in product quality and usability in a multidisciplinary laboratory environment.
  • Benefit from a hybrid work model with hands-on laboratory activities in Quebec City.
  • Join a collaborative team where your autonomy, curiosity, and organizational skills will have a direct impact.
