The QA Analyst I plays a critical role in ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and quality of election-related projects. The role includes performing quality assurance (QA) testing on ballots, data imports, and project configurations to verify accuracy before deployment. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with a strong sense of responsibility and a passion for maintaining public trust in the election process. The specialist will work closely with cross-functional teams, follow structured testing procedures, document findings, and support both hands-on testing and digital QA workflows.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required
Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred in IT, political science, engineering, or related field or equivalent certifications (A+, Network+, Security+)
Experience in quality assurance, election operations, or systems testing
Experience with ticketing systems QA tools (e.g., Jira Service Management)
Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow structured testing procedures
Strong written communication and documentation skills
Knowledge and understanding of software programs
Ability to establish and maintain business relationships with internal stakeholders.
Ability to analyze problems and identify potential solutions and preventive measures.
Ability to travel for election day support

Responsibilities

Support the setup, installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of test equipment and software.
Prepare and execute test decks through precinct scanners and central count tabulators; validate outputs against expected results.
Conduct manual testing for election-related projects including ballot builds, tabulator functionality, audio validation, and reporting tools.
Identify and document test anomalies; assist in root cause analysis and resolution in alignment with compliance standards.
Perform basic functional and data validation testing to confirm accuracy and stability prior to project release.
Help maintain documentation for QA protocols, procedures, and tools.
Assist operations teams with field testing, troubleshooting, customer support, and documentation.
Perform other tasks and QA support duties as assigned.
