Turing is seeking a high-taste engineer to support preference-data and evaluation work for AI projects. The role calls for hands-on experience with preference data and rubric creation, strong judgment about what makes a high-quality example, and clear communication that turns complex technical work into concise, actionable updates. The engineer should be comfortable working in ambiguous, fast-moving environments and favor shipping work over prolonged deliberation. The position involves designing and iterating on rubrics and evaluation criteria, reviewing and labeling data, building and maintaining infrastructure and pipelines for data workflows, synthesizing findings, and collaborating with researchers and engineers to scale qualitative judgment into processes. This is a fully remote independent-contractor engagement for three months, with an expected start as soon as possible. The preferred availability is 40 hours per week, with at least six hours of overlap with Pacific Time.
