About The Position

Turing is seeking a high-taste engineer with a strong eye for quality, experienced in preference data and rubric creation. The ideal candidate can clearly communicate complex technical work in a concise, structured manner and thrives in ambiguous, fast-moving environments, prioritizing shipping over deliberation. This role involves designing and refining rubrics, reviewing and labeling data with a high standard for quality, building and maintaining data pipelines, and synthesizing findings into actionable recommendations. Collaboration with researchers and engineers to translate qualitative judgment into scalable processes is key.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Python (especially building/maintaining pipelines and infra) or Typescript
  • Hands-on experience with preference data collection and/or rubric creation
  • Strong written and verbal communication — able to distill technical work into clear, actionable summaries
  • Demonstrated high-taste judgment — able to articulate why something is good, not just that it is.
