About The Position

Quotient-Inc (a VTG company) is seeking a senior full-stack developer to own and modernize shared Python/Django capabilities and serve as the technical escalation point for complex, cross-application work. The role combines hands-on development with architecture, secure identity and database integration, lifecycle upgrades, production troubleshooting, documentation, and mentoring. The developer will collaborate with application teams, DevTools/DevOps, NIH CIT, Security, and database administrators across on-premises and AWS environments. The position is hybrid in Bethesda, Maryland, with compensation of $100,000–$120,000 annually. The work includes designing, developing, testing, and maintaining Python/Django applications, reusable libraries, REST APIs, and supporting JavaScript, HTML, and CSS components. The developer will lead end-of-life upgrades across the application portfolio, including dependency inventories, compatibility assessments, package updates, refactoring, cross-environment testing, coordination with consuming teams, and migration and rollback guidance. Responsibilities also include building and validating Python runtimes from source when approved installers are unavailable, and modernizing shared Django infrastructure for Python 3.12+ compatibility with automated tests, versioning, deprecation paths, diagrams, runbooks, and coordinated adoption. The role implements and troubleshoots identity and access technologies including NIH Login/SiteMinder, CAS and django-cas-ng, AWS Cognito, JWT/OAuth2, Django authentication backends, authorization decorators, role and permission mapping, and secure sessions. It also integrates Django applications with Oracle, PostgreSQL, AWS RDS, and other approved data sources using centralized password-lookup and secrets-management services, supporting credential rotation, least privilege, and removal of hard-coded secrets. Application security work includes CSP, XSS/CSRF protections, HSTS, secure headers and cookies, dependency remediation, and penetration-test findings. The supplied description ends mid-sentence after mentioning external scripts or nonce/hash-based CS.
