About The Position

The Risk & PnL Team is working on modernizing legacy systems by migrating to strategic Risk Engine, Aggregator and UI part of the Comprehensive Intraday Risk for Trading program. This is a unique and exciting opportunity for a dynamic, enterprising mid-level, AVP/VP-level developer to join the Risk & PnL Team and work on migrating Intraday/EOD Ondemand use cases from the legacy systems into modern systems using Quartz Risk Engine. The successful candidate will collaborate with other team members, platform teams, EQ Derivs trading, operations to achieve a collective result. They will be responsible for formulating and designing systems scope, objectives and work on bridging the gaps between systems, and reconciling risk & pnl numbers and explaining differences between systems. The role also involves supporting systems through maintenance, modification, problem resolution, risk assessment, code migrations, architecture reviews and performance optimizations.

Requirements

• 5+ years of technology development experience
• 2+ years of experience in development of front-office derivative risk (Greeks and Scenario risk)
• Ability to define relevant areas of the roadmap and articulate the vision to senior stakeholders, product owners and teams.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, interpersonal skills and demonstrate the capability for juggling multiple competing priorities.
• Proficient in software design, ideally focused on real-time/batch risk systems, and executed using agile methodologies (Scrum, Test Driven Development, unit/integration testing, pair programming, etc.).
• Comfortable driving design and architecture and rationalizing business requirements.
• Significant interaction with senior developers across other work streams as we integrate an increasingly complex product set.
• 5+ years of technology development experience and specifically 2+ years of experience in development of front-office derivatives risk systems.
• Computer science or equivalent degree
• Demonstrable experience of having designed and developed complex multi-threaded server-side functionality using Core Java
• Experience with Open Sourced Java frameworks like Spring, Hibernate
• Proficient in writing unit, integration, and acceptance tests
• Comfortable in an agile working environment
• Self-starter and proactive

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience of working with SN and SP is a plus.
• Experience with Python and/or modern web UI technologies; HTML5, React, RESTful services, Websockets
• Derivatives Risk domain knowledge (Greeks and Scenarios)
• Equity Derivatives product knowledge (Futures, Options, Convertibles)
