About The Position

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Python Data Engineer for a contract position with a Major Financial Services Firm located in Charlotte, NC. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. This is a hands-on, technical role responsible for the design and development of database models, data processing jobs, and data extraction/transformation/loading (ETL) pipelines using Python. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with data infrastructure, application layer integration, and AWS cloud services.

Requirements

Proven experience in the design and development of database models and data/batch processing jobs
Strong proficiency in Python for data manipulation and ETL processes
Ability to write and optimize complex SQL queries
Hands-on experience with AWS infrastructure, particularly S3 and AWS Glue
Experience with the full software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, and implementation

Nice To Haves

Experience with Python-based front-end applications
Knowledge of Angular

Responsibilities

Write and optimize SQL queries to extract, transform, and load structured and unstructured data
Provide scoping, estimating, planning, design, development, and support services for project initiatives
Design, configure, deploy and maintain Python scripts to support AI project initiatives
Collaborate on AWS infrastructure, including working with S3 for data storage and AWS Glue for ETL pipeline development
Contribute to Python-based front-end applications, supporting current interfaces
Design, develop, test, and implement application code
Track progress and intervene as needed to eliminate barriers and ensure delivery
Resolve or escalate problems and manage risk for both development and production support
