About The Position

Black Cape is seeking onsite engineers to work on Python and data engineering to support mission users for a program supporting SOCOM. The role involves working closely with Special Operations mission teams and having a direct impact on mission success. Engineering work will take place at customer sites up to 5 days per week. Black Cape is a unique technology company focused on full-stack web applications, advanced data analysis tools, and integrating AI/ML capabilities for federal government customers. They work with Department of War (DoW) and Intelligence Community (IC) customers, supporting programs and agencies as both a prime and a subcontractor. Their engineer-led software teams develop technical solutions on an aggressive schedule across the DoW and IC, with frequent interaction with end users. They bring experience in building, integrating, and deploying AI/ML solutions using tools like Google TensorFlow and Python scikit-learn, combining cloud environment deployment experience with Agile development and DevOps best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • TS/SCI clearance (no poly required)
  • 0-5 years of professional development experience
  • Strong experience with Python
  • Experience with at least ONE relational database, such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or sqlite3
  • Experience working with agile software development teams
  • Experience working in classified government environments
  • Experience developing on MacOS, Windows, and Linux
  • Familiarity with database query languages including SQL
  • Familiarity with Linux systems including RedHat-based distributions
  • US Citizenship

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with data extract, transform, load (ETL) techniques
  • Experience with data tools such as NiFi, AirFlow
  • Experience with NoSQL storage like Elasticsearch, Accumulo, or MongoDB
  • Experience with containers, Docker, and Kubernetes
  • Experience with AWS Console including but not limited to lite management of EC2 instances
  • Background communicating to senior stakeholders in a classified environment
  • CompTIA Security+ certification
