About The Position

The PVMHS Boys Soccer Coach will be responsible for all aspects of the boys' soccer program, including coaching, athletic discipline, and implementing departmental policies. The coach must adhere to the NFHS Coaches Code of Ethics, ensuring good sportsmanship and professional conduct. This role involves developing practice plans, ensuring facility and equipment safety, managing game plans, and processing necessary paperwork. The coach will also supervise student-athletes at practices, games, and during transportation.

Requirements

High School Level Soccer and/or High School Level coaching experience required
First Aid/CPR required
MIAA/NFHS Coaches Certification required

Responsibilities

Model behaviors outlined in the NFHS Coaches Code of Ethics, especially those pertaining to sportsmanship.
Have full control of the team in all matters pertaining to coaching and athletic discipline.
Implement Peabody Athletic Department policies and team rules.
Be responsible for information contained in the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association Handbook and the Peabody Athletic Handbook.
Stay informed of rule changes, trends, and recommendations that affect their particular sport.
Be present at each practice session and at all contests of the sport coached.
Develop an organized written practice plan to include adequate warm-up and cool-down procedures on a daily basis.
Model professional and healthy behaviors, leading by example in appearance, manners, language, and conduct during practices/games.
Make sure that the facilities and equipment are safe and that safety procedures are taught and followed in all areas.
Perform all duties/responsibilities assigned by the Director of Athletic.
Implement game plans and game management.
Process the medical forms, parent consent forms and eligibility reports.
Work with community members who are involved in youth sports.
Directly supervise squad members at home and away contests.
Supervise all team members that are transported by school buses.
