This is a temporary position lasting approximately 6 months. This is an on-site position in Sanford, NC. The role involves executing lab or pilot-scale purifications using Tangential Flow Filtration (TFF), Normal Flow Filtration (NFF), and/or column chromatography. Responsibilities include handling process development and characterization, scale-up and tech transfer to commercial manufacturing, process simulation and modeling, process troubleshooting, qualification of alternate raw materials and components, and new technology development as needed to support experiment execution. The scientist will prepare equipment, solutions, and consumable materials, utilize technical knowledge to identify, troubleshoot, and assist with resolution of process problems, and document experiment execution using an electronic lab notebook, batch record, and/or protocols. Organizing technical data and providing oral presentations or technical reports to communicate results is also part of the role. Prioritization and organization of work to meet project deadlines and support team goals are essential. Working on second shift may be required periodically. Due to close work with specific bacterial strains, the following vaccinations will be offered by the company: Blood Borne Pathogens (Hep B), Pneumovax 23, Menactra, and Tdap.
