As a Purchasing Specialist / Buyer for Commodities & MRO, you will be executing procurement activities, supporting production and inventory needs, and ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 / AS9100 and ITAR/export control regulations. You will be managing supplier relationships, negotiating pricing and delivery, and maintaining accurate procurement documentation to support operational continuity and audit readiness.

Requirements

  • Have a bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Have 3–5 years of purchasing or procurement experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Have experience working in regulated environments (ISO, AS, ITAR preferred)
  • Have the ability to understand technical drawings, specifications, and manufacturing terminology
  • Have experience negotiating pricing, lead times, and delivery commitments with suppliers
  • Have strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Have experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred)
  • Have understanding of procurement controls, documentation requirements, and audit readiness
  • Have the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
  • Have strong communication skills with internal stakeholders and external suppliers

  • APICS certifications (CPIM, CSCP, or equivalent) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with Planning, Manufacturing, and Quality to support production schedules and material requirements
  • Sourcing commodities, MRO items, and services in compliance with ISO 9001 / AS9100 and ITAR/export control requirements
  • Soliciting, evaluating, and negotiating supplier quotations to achieve best value in cost, quality, delivery, and risk
  • Issuing, managing, and maintaining purchase orders and supplier agreements per company and regulatory standards
  • Monitoring supplier performance and expediting orders to prevent shortages or production disruptions
  • Reviewing purchase order acknowledgements, supplier documentation, and invoices for accuracy and compliance
  • Resolving and documenting supplier issues, including non‑conformances, shortages, late deliveries, and pricing discrepancies
  • Maintaining accurate procurement records to support audits, traceability, and document control requirements
  • Supporting supplier qualification, evaluation, and continuous improvement activities
  • Participating in physical inventory counts and maintaining inventory accuracy within the ERP system
  • Performing other procurement‑related duties as assigned based on business needs
