About The Position

The Purchasing Manager is responsible for managing and supporting the procurement of inventory and non-inventory operational and food and beverage products, supplies, equipment, and services necessary for property operation. This role involves identifying, evaluating, and selecting suppliers based on quality, reliability, cost-effectiveness, and adherence to ethical and sustainability standards. The manager will negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers, manage supplier relationships, and conduct market research. Additionally, the position supports internal customers by collaborating on procurement planning, drafting RFP documents, and managing contracts. The role also involves supporting the Director/Head of Purchasing in implementing information systems to enhance procurement functions and promoting sustainable and socially responsible sourcing practices. Staying updated on regulatory requirements and ensuring compliance is also a key aspect of this position.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
• 5+ years of full-time administrative and/or professional level experience.
• 3 years of which were in a team management capacity.
• Self-starter with an analytical mind.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• In-depth knowledge of procurement principles, strategies, and best practices.
• Experience in implementing sustainable and socially responsible procurement practices.
• Strong skills in budgeting, cost optimization, and negotiation techniques.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to motivate team by inspiring positive communication to work together toward achieving goals.
• Proficiency in automated procure-to-pay software solutions and tools, i.e., punch-outs, electronic data interchange (EDIs), contract and vendor management.
• Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Ability to read and communicate verbally in English.
• Position requires some travel.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of RedRock and Stratton Warren procurement software a plus.
• Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Managing and supporting the procurement of inventory and non-inventory operational and food and beverage products, supplies, equipment, and services necessary for property operation.
• Identifying, evaluating, and selecting suppliers based on quality, reliability, cost-effectiveness, and adherence to ethical and sustainability standards.
• Negotiating contracts and terms with suppliers to ensure favorable pricing, payment terms, and mutually beneficial agreements.
• Sourcing and negotiating with potential suppliers, assessing their capabilities, and evaluating their suitability based on predefined criteria.
• Managing supplier relationships, including regular communication, performance evaluations, and issue resolution.
• Conducting market research and analysis to stay updated on industry trends, supplier capabilities, and pricing fluctuations.
• Providing support and building internal customer relationships with property staff, including collaborating on procurement planning, drafting RFP documents, proposal review and evaluation, negotiation, and technical aspects of contract administration and compliance.
• Supporting and assisting the Director/Head of Purchasing with the implementation of information systems to enhance procurement functions, including development of associated policies, procedures, and performance metrics to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
• Implementing sustainable and socially responsible strategic sourcing practices, including supporting local and diverse suppliers and promoting ethical sourcing.
• Staying updated on regulatory requirements and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations related to purchasing and sourcing activities.
