About The Position

The Purchasing Manager leads the Purchasing department and is responsible for strategic sourcing, supplier management, procurement operations, and purchasing compliance. This role develops procurement strategies, oversees supplier relationships and contracts, manages departmental performance, and partners with internal stakeholders and global headquarters to deliver cost-effective purchasing solutions that support manufacturing operations and business objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required, MBA or MS preferred, or equivalent, relevant experience
  • Minimum of 8 years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum of 3 years of leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Experience with strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, contract management, and supplier performance management.

Nice To Haves

  • CPSM, CPM, or equivalent purchasing certification.
  • Experience supporting capital equipment, construction, or global manufacturing operations.
  • Experience with SAP or other ERP purchasing systems.
  • Bilingual (Korean/English)

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Purchasing team and oversee daily procurement operations to ensure timely acquisition of materials, equipment, construction services, and indirect goods.
  • Develop and execute purchasing strategies that optimize cost, quality, supplier performance, and supply continuity.
  • Oversee supplier sourcing, qualification, contract negotiations, performance management, and strategic supplier relationships to improve cost, quality, and delivery.
  • Review and approve purchase orders, supplier agreements, contracts, and related procurement documentation.
  • Analyze purchasing trends, supplier performance, budgets, and market conditions to support strategic sourcing decisions.
  • Prepare and present purchasing reports, forecasts, and performance metrics to leadership and global headquarters.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams, including Finance, Legal, Engineering, Production, Quality, and Facilities, to support purchasing initiatives and capital projects.
  • Coordinate contract reviews with Legal and ensure agreements are approved, documented, and properly maintained.
  • Monitor purchase orders, supplier lead times, project schedules, and on-time delivery.
  • Develop and maintain standardized purchasing processes that align with global procurement standards across North American operations.
  • Identify supply chain risks and implement mitigation strategies to minimize business disruptions.
  • Manage departmental budgets, purchasing forecasts, and spending analyses.
  • Evaluate supplier performance and implement corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with company purchasing policies, internal controls, regulatory requirements, and ethical business practices.
  • Maintain cleanliness at work-site in accordance with 5S3R Standards: Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain Right Location, Right Quantity, Right Container.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
